Melody Bodette is co-producer of But Why: A Podcast for Curious Kids from Vermont Public. She is co-author of two But Why books, Are Llamas Ticklish? and Do Fish Breathe Underwater?

Before launching But Why, she worked in Vermont Public's newsroom as a production assistant, Morning Edition producer, deputy news director and freelance reporter. In 2022, she was part of a team that won a national Edward R. Murrow award for Excellence in Innovation. Melody got her start in journalism freelancing for local business journals and working as a news and editorial assistant at the Burlington Free Press.

She lives in Vermont.
